The Monroe County Energy Challenge is a two-year effort to save energy, save money, and win $5 million for the community. We are one of 50 communities across the nation competing to win the Georgetown University Energy Prize by reducing our residential, municipal, and K-12 electricity and natural gas use. There are many of ways for you to get involved, including volunteering, sharing information with friends and neighbors, and signing up for a free home energy assessment.
Free home assessments are available to all Monroe County residents. Our trained volunteers will visit your home and walk you through a step by step process to identify areas where you can save money. We even provide free starter materials (such as pipe and outlet insulation) so you’ll see immediate savings. We’ll also provide information about local rebates and other offers to help finance your energy efficiency upgrades. To schedule your free home energy assessment, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Nolan Hendon, at 812-349-3652. You can also learn more by visiting our website at www.mocoenergychallenge.org, or by visiting our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts. Remember, everyone can do something to save!
