Salvation Army

Every day, The Salvation Army recieves hundreds of pounds of donated goods: clothing, furniture, electronics, art, jewelry and more.

Your help is needed to help Salvation Army staff to recieve, sort, and hang these donated items and assist in making the store an attractive destination for customers.

Every year, the Salvation Army saves thousands of pounds of materials from ending up in the landfill by selling what is good to the public at low prices.

Those funds are used to support The Salvation Army's case management programs, empoyment programs, food pantry and financial assistance program - that support working families, the hungry, and the sick in our community.

Put your sorting and merchandising skills to good use with the worthwhile opportunity to someone's trash into treasure in need in our community.

The Do It Best Fall Market

The Do It Best Fall Market on Tuesday, October 16th at the Indianapollis Convention Center is a home show that donates the leftover items from booth displays an demonstrations to Habitat ReStores throughout Indiana. This allows our local Habitat ReStore an opportunity to obtain a large amount of new, donated merchandise to sell. All proceeds from merchandise sold at the ReStore goes directly to building homes in Monroe County.

To make this donation opportunity a reality - up to four volunteers are needed to carpool to Indy and help move the home show merchandise from the Convention Center floor to carts or pallets - so no heavy lifting will be required. This will be a full-day opportunity leaving Bloomington at 9:30 a.m. and returning around 7 p.m. The minimum age is 18 and volunteers able to drive carpool are welcome!
