Deputy Sarah Jones, with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, was struck on October 17, 2008, while directing traffic along State Road 45 in Bloomington, Indiana; where she later succumbed to her injuries on October 19, 2008.

The purpose of this race is to raise funds that support scholarships for local female high school seniors who wish to pursue a career in public safety.  Sarah had a passion for helping others, a desire to make this world a better place, and her legacy lives on today through each and every runner, walker, sponsor, and scholarship recipient! Come out September, 21st!
