Pink Claws for the Cause

Support BHSN Volleyball on September 19th in the BHSN main gym for Pink Claws for the Cause to benefit the IU Health Olcott Center. The JV match starts at 5:30pm and the varsity match starts at 6:30pm.


Pink Claws is a heartfelt, tight-knit, annual community volleyball event which brings together athletes, cancer survivors, physicians, caretakers, family members, and friends to honor the women in our lives by raising awareness and raising funds to end breast cancer. Enjoy volleyball, a bake sale, and raffle.


Raffle items will be on display and tickets for the raffle sold for $5 each or 3 for $12 at the September 4th and September 10th home matches. Wear pink and automatically be entered into the raffle. The raffle drawing will be held on September 19th during the varsity match.


STEM to Them Mobile Lab

The Monroe County Community School Corporation is excited to announce the STEM to Them Mobile Lab! This innovative mobile STEM Lab is unlike any other. It will travel to all elementary schools twice a year, providing robotics and engineering lessons to all students that encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. To make this dream a reality, we need your help! 


The Foundation of  MCCS is one of the Top 200 finalists in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® grant program. We need you to rally behind our STEM to Them Mobile Lab, cast your vote and help us win one of 40 $25,000 grants!

Bloomington High School Class of 1969 Reunion

Little Miss Poppy and Little Mister Poppy Competition 2019

A competition for 6-12 year olds to be selected as an ambassador of the American Legion Auxiliary poppy. Little Miss Poppy and Little Mister Poppy is a contest for a youngster who represents the fun spirit of the American Legion Auxiliary. This is not a beauty contest, nor an academic competition. It's just for fun, giving kids a chance to be kids as well as learn about Veterans and promote the poppy.



1. Contestants must be a resident of Indiana or have access to Bloomington, Indiana at least 3 times between September 11th, 2019 and June 30th, 2020.

2. Nominations must be received at the American Legion Post 18 by 5PM on August 15th, 2019 or postmarked by August 15th, 2019.

3. Contestants must be between 6 and 12 years of age.

4. All contestants will be interviewed by an American Legion Auxiliary Unit 18 member (based on applicable questions) and will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Poise under pressure
  • Helpfulness, being a good citizen or friend
  • Positive attitude
  • Eagerness to learn about Veterans and promote the poppy
  • Kindness to adults in attendance at interview
  • Connection to Veterans and/or American Legion Family

5. The winners (selection of 1 female and 1 male) will be selected at the American Legion at a Patriot Day Event on September 11th at 6:30PM. This event is subject to be adjusted. If there is a change, notice will be given to all applicants.

6. Runner-Up placements will be announced.
