Impatience Fundraiser

Have you heard about Impatience? Saturday, September 28th from 8 PM to 1 AM, there's a party on the square with a birds-eye view of Lotus Fest!

 

Impatience is at The Lodge, just above the Arts Village and half a block from the Big Tent. Tickets include photo booth, hot appetizer buffet by Lennie's, canned cocktails by Cardinal Spirits, live entertainment, and a silent auction. It starts at 8, just in time to grab a drink and a spot by the windows as the Lotus parade goes by, and DJ LOWE will close it out with dance hits until 1 AM.

 

Tickets are $50 per person and the proceeds go to provide free physical therapy for local patients with chronic pain. Visit patientphyscialtherapy.com online or Patient PT on Facebook to get tickets!

51st Bean Dinner Festival

The 51st Annual Cataract Volunteer Fire Dept Bean Dinner Festival will be on October Friday 4th 4-8 pm, Saturday 5th, and Sunday 6th 10:30- 6.

800 lbs Ham & Beans, Tailgater's BBQ Jiffy Treat Ice Cream, Polish Sausage, Wood Fired Pizza, Kettle Corn, Elephant Ears, Hot Dogs, and good old Sloppy Joes :)

Cupcakes and Conversation

Join us for Cupcakes and Conversation at the Monre County CASA office ( 201 N. Morton) on October 22nd from 22nd from  4:30-6:30 p.m. Stop in for a sweet treat and learn more about what's happening at CASA! Monroe County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) provides advocacy for children that are involved in abuse or neglect cases in the Monroe County court system. Join us for delicious cupcakes, talk to current CASA volunteers and learn more about what it's like to advocate for a child.

Monroe County 4-H Ambassadors' Fall Barn Dance

The dance is on Saturday October 5th from 6-10pm in the Goat Barn at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. It is for anyone currently in grades 7-12 and the admission is free. You Do Not have to currently be a member in 4-H to attend. There will be music, dancing, food, and cornhole. So come out with friends to the fairground on Saturday October 5th to have a good time! The dance is hosted by Monroe County 4-H Ambassadors.

Delta Theta Tau Annual Indoor Garage Sale

Delta Theta Tau, a philanthropic sorority, will hold its annual indoor garage sale at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church; 100 St. Rd. 46; Bloomington, IN.

The sale will be from 2-7 pm on Friday, October 4th and 8-3 pm on Saturday, October 5th.

Financial Peace University

Solsberry Christian Church located on, 10825 E Christian Rd. Solsberry IN 47459, is hosting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University beginning Thursady October 10th at 7pm. During this 2 hour class we will watch videos from Ramsey Solutions to learn how to become debt free, change your family tree and win with money.

Resilience!

Resilience! Is a social justice event helping to encourage community engagement and promote social change, both those who are feeling powerless and those already actively engaged. Come engage with others and learn how you can contribute through an afternoon on interactive music, spoken word, and hand-on activities for all ages.

 

Performing artists include Ross Gay, Malcolm Dalglish, Yuriria Rodriguez,and tango duoTanguero (Winnie Cheung and Ben Bogart), among others. This FREE family- friendly event will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 12:00PM to 1:30PM in the Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park at 221 S. Washington Street.

 

Collaborators include the City of Bloomington and the Bloomington Center for Connection. Many more community partners will be present with information on how you can activate and promote change, and donations will be accepted for RAICES (https://www.raicestexas.org/about/), a nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrants children, families, and refugees.

55th annual Scotland Festival

The 55 annual Scotland Festival will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Scotland Indiana, in Cady Grove across the street from the old hotel. Activities begin with breakfast served by the Taylor Township Fire Department. Three new activites this year include a Civil War encampment, performences by the Lost River Renegade Cowboys, and an appearence by "Stuart" the Minion. The Pedal Tractor Pull is also returning this year. Other activities include live musical entertainment, art and quilt shows, food and arts & crafts vendors, cake walks, coin toss, kids games, raffles and self-guided tours through the old hotel and barber shop. 

There is no entry fee or parking fee required for this event :)
